Eating disorder behaviours are often very overwhelming, all-consuming and can feel unsafe.
Behaviours that keep eating disorders ‘alive’ are explored together, safely. I like to break down a problematic behaviour into its parts, so we can ask, what are the thoughts behind this? What feelings arise here? What isn’t being met? By acknowledging our most vulnerable selves, we can begin to find better ways to cope with difficult situations. We can identify precipitating events and become better adapted.
Any behavioural strategy will be offered to you on account of your individual need with the intention of reducing disordered eating behaviours in the short and longer term, allowing you to trust yourself and your body.
Often, disordered eating behaviours may arise as a response to differences in neurostructural functioning, particularly in individuals with Sensory Processing Disorder or Autism Spectrum Disorder.
