Eating Recovery for an Unhealthy Relationship with Food

Many people recognise as adults that they have developed, or indeed have always had, what they consider an unhealthy relationship with food.

Perhaps you consistently overeat, feel guilty about food and calories, display a dieting mentality, have become enthralled in ‘clean’ eating, exercise as a compensatory measure or notice yourself restricting and refusing certain food groups.

If you feel yourself in a chaotic ‘food world’ and wish to find peace, Eating Recovery is for you.

Therapy for Eating Disorders

Whether your Eating Disorder is medically diagnosed, or not, you are welcome to work with me. Your eating disorder, be it anorexia, bulimia or binge eating disorder, is not your fault.

I recognise an eating disorder as a way of coping with what life has thrown at you. Together we work through what has led to your eating disorder, what maintains the behaviour and ways to break through to begin the personalised pathway to recovery.

Nutritional Therapy Programme
and Supplementation Consultation

Nutritional Therapy is a science-based therapy to help you, as an individual, find optimal health through diet and correct nutrition personalised to you.

Your Nutritional Therapy Programme includes:

  • Full case history taking and review prior to appointment
  • Food diary analysis
  • A one hour Nutritional Therapy session in person or remotely
  • Non-invasive diagnostics
  • Advice on intolerance testing and functional testing, where appropriate
  • Discount on recommended therapeutic supplements

During our 1:1 session, we discuss information about your lifestyle,  past and present health conditions, current health symptoms and concerns, food and diet, medications and supplements.

Clinical and Naturopathic Nutritional Therapy works to identify the underlying root cause of imbalances, rather than treating just the symptoms.

From this, recommendations are given and a programme is developed for you, which is personalised to you and your unique needs.

Follow up sessions

A follow up consultation is usually booked 4-6 weeks after the initial consultation. This allows for my full support in monitoring your progress and helps to motivate.

After this, clients may book in as they wish, and sometimes may just need a 30 minute check-in session.

Food Intolerance
and Allergy Testing

Intolerances to food are not life threatening but can have a huge impact on your quality of life. Testing is quick, as are results. Clients who have had testing report feeling better very quickly after adjusting their diet.

Common food intolerance symptoms include:

  • Bloating
  • Poor skin conditions such as eczema, acne, psoriasis
  • Headaches
  • Sinusitis
  • Rhinitis
  • Constipation
  • Fatigue
  • Weight loss or gain
  • Depression

I offer both Food Intolerance testing and testing for an allergic response. These tests are pin-prick blood tests and are payable directly to the labs. I am happy to administer the test myself, or I can send a test kit directly to you.

You are welcome to a 30 minute phone consultation following test results to help support dietary adjustments. Food intolerance testing measures your IgG reaction to over 200 food and drinks.
Food allergy testing measures your IgE reaction to 23 different food allergens and 19 different environmental allergens.
